BLACK FALCON defies the heat and kicks off the second half of the season with a podium finish
Following their class victory at the Nürburgring 24-hour race five weeks earlier, BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN were keen to be right up there at the start of the second half of the NLS season. In qualifying, Alexander Hardt, Benjamin Hites and Benjamin Koslowski initially secured second place for the #900 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the CUP2 class, thereby securing a "double pole" for BLACK FALCON. However, during the first stint of the race, the car suffered from overheating, which meant that, despite the swift work of the BLACK FALCON pit crew, they lost two laps to the competition and dropped back to the rear of the field. In the hours that followed, the trio of drivers successfully limited the damage and, with an eighth-place finish in class, picked up a few more points for the PETN overall standings
Outlook
Following the summer break, the six-hour race in the Nürburgring Endurance Series is a particularly important round of the season. Since 1.5 times as many championship points are awarded, the race takes on special significance in the battle for the PETN standings. The BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN will prepare intensively to secure more crucial points.
